A general introduction to the subject of near-rings is included here for those who are unaware of these objects. Please feel free to contact any of the people mentioned in these pages to answer any questions you may have.

Some more specific introductions to various applications of near-rings have been started, but the variety of applications is quite wide, so it will build up over time.

The nearring and nearfield conferences over the past 38 years have been a great success, and are one of the mainstays of the nearring community. All interested persons are welcome to the conferences, which are approximately bi-annual.

Our searchable near-ring bibliography is now ready for use. Besides, the bibliography is available in printed form in the Newsletter, a small but interesting forum for the sharing of nearring information.

We have a collection of the various books that have appeared on nearring theory, both the conference proceedings and the monographs.

Over the years, many problems have been posed, and have remained open for some time, long enough to be published as open problems. Some of them have been solved partially or completely.
