AAA 62 - Workshop on General Algebra
Announcement
We would like to invite you to come to
Linz,
Austria,
from Thursday, June 14th, 2001 to Sunday, June, 17th, 2001
to participate in the
Workshop on General Algebra.
(Arbeitstagung Allgemeine Algebra). It is the 62nd conference of
this series that was started in 1970 by R. Wille (TU Darmstadt, Germany),
and is now being coordinated by B. Ganter and R. Pöschel (TU Dresden,
Germany).
The conference AAA62 will be organized by
Günter
Pilz and
his group at
the
Johannes Kepler University Linz.
Program
The scientific program will start on
the university campus in lecture hall HS 7
on Friday, June 15th, at 9:00 a.m., and
finish on Sunday, June 17th, at 1:00 p.m.
In the evening of Thursday, June 14th, there
will be the possibility to check in for the conference in
the restaurant ``Klosterhof'', Landstrasse 30, tram stop
``Mozartkreuzung'',
in the centre of Linz from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
We plan to have sections on
- 1. Universal Algebra,
- 2. Lattice Theory,
- 3. Computational Methods in Algebra,
- 4. Algebra and Discrete Mathematics,
- 5. Classical Algebraic Structures.

There will be no conference fee.
Rooms
We ask you
to book your rooms personally, e.g.,
via the
tourist information of Linz.
However, there is a certain amount of rooms available
at
the hotel Sommerhaus-Julius Raab Heim, which is in
about 10 minutes' walking distance from
the university campus.
These rooms should be reserved early (best before
March 31st) through
our university's room administration service.
The price of the double room is
ATS 310 (EUR 23) per night and person without breakfast, and
ATS 380 (EUR 28) per night and person with breakfast.

- How to reach Linz by train:
The train schedules can be found at
http://fahrplan.oebb.at/,
http://bahn.hafas.de/.
From the train station (Hauptbahnhof), proceed as follows.
- To the University campus: take tram number 3 from ``Hauptbahnhof'' to
``Mozartkreuzung'', there take tram 1 in direction
``Universitaet''; get out at ``Universitaet'', and cross
the road ``Altenberger Strasse'' to reach the university campus.
- To the Restaurant Klosterhof: take tram number 3 from ``Hauptbahnhof'' to
``Mozartkreuzung''. Follow the tramway along
the ``Landstrasse''; on the left side
of the ``Landstrasse'', about 50m from Mozartkreuzung,
there is the entrance of ``Klosterhof'' (Landstrasse 30).
- To the hotel Sommerhaus - Julius Raabheim by public transport:
Leave the tram 1 at ``Universitaet''; walk toward the
school and continue in this direction. On your right,
about 300m away,
you will see a tall building, this is the Hotel Sommerhaus -Julius Raabheim.
- How to reach Linz by plane: Linz has an international airport (LNZ).
However, it is still 30 min driving to the university
or to the center of Linz. Since there is no reasonable public
transport from the airport to downtown Linz (except for
taxis),
we would offer to pick you up personally at the airport.

- How to reach the Hotel Sommerhaus - Julius Raabheim by car:
Coming from the freeway A1, take the exit ``LINZ''. Then you are
on the
A7 in the direction Prag-Freistadt.
Some 1500m after crossing the Danube, leave the highway
on the exit ``DORNACH-UNIVERSITÄT''.
At the traffic lights, turn right into the
``Freistädter Strasse'' and go about 300m. Then turn
left into the ``Julius Raab Strasse''. The tall building there
is the Sommerhaus - Julius Raabheim.
