Development of the research work.

The main goals of the project as given in the application were the following: structure theory of planar near-rings and $ 1$-primitive near-rings, investigation of designs from planar near-rings and Frobenius groups, and the investigation of polynomial functions on Frobenius groups. In each of these areas, new and original results could be obtained. In the course of the project, the topic of functions on groups turned out to be particularly rewarding. Techniques that were initially developed to investigate functions on Frobenius groups could then be applied to very much larger classes of algebraic structures. Hence the participants spent much of the second part of the project time on functions on various algebras. Almost half of the scientific output (about 10 papers) deals with this topic.
